Oru

A kinetic paper installation that folds and unfolds following real-time data from its surroundings.

In Japanese, “ORU” means “ to fold”. This living structure made of paper and light moves and breathes according to a real time data stream of its surroundings, such as the electric consumption of the current building or city.
